WATCH: NYT/MSNBCs Mara Gay Describes How Disturbing American Flags Are. Mara Gay of The New York Times says dozens of American flags flying on Long Island during the anniversary of D-Day left her. Trolling a Black journalist with the American flag is not the own some people think it is. By Douglas Ernst - The Washington Times - Tuesday, June 8, 2021. I see I’m being trolled with the American flag this morning. Once the left is given an inch, they always take a mile. AP Photo/Alex Brandon Mara Gay is on the New York Times editorial board. Indeed, her colleague at the Times, Nikole Hannah-Jones, wrote a screed about the horror of the American flag flying in her 1619 Project.

But, predictably, the enemy before us is the United States itself. The attacks on her today are ill-informed and grounded in bad-faith. Her argument was that Trump and many of his supporters have politicized the American flag. First, it was the Confederate Flag that was bad. New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay’s comments on MSNBC have been irresponsibly taken out of context. Elected officials and mainstream media types alike are becoming more and more brainwashed by “woke” propaganda. Maybe this just shows how deep the proverbial “rabbit hole” goes when it comes to American politics. But what dog does Mara Gay have in the fight over the display of the American flag? This makes sense for the founder of the 1619 Project to say since that is all about critical race theory. She said that she was embarrassed by the American flag that flew outside of the home she grew up in. This type of mindset rings very familiar to something that Nikole Hannah-Jones said. Mara Gay, a New York Times editorial board member, made outrageous comments on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Tuesday. The discussion centered around a shockingly juvenile, fact-void June 7th OpEd at the Washington Post by Max Boot titled Too many people are still underestimating the Trump threat. Although Gay did not specifically reference the troubles on the border and the criticism of the current administration to control it, a logical assumption can be made there.
